About Me
Dr. Katrina Zaleski, Ph.D.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist

To help others, I draw on my personal experiences, my formal education, and what I've learned from the incredible clients I have been fortunate enough to work with throughout my time being a psychologist. I graduated from the University of New York at Buffalo with a bachelors degree and Northcentral University with a PhD in psychology with a specialization in neurological research.

My pre-doctoral clinical work was with children and adults with anxiety and depression in Raleigh, North Carolina. My post-doctoral internship was in Anaheim, California treating adults, children, families, couples, and groups. Some of my diverse experience ranges from working with veterans at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, to psychometric testing of individuals including objective and projective personality tests, to ketamine assisted therapy, providing therapy for Disneyland employees, and facilitating psychoeducation groups for children at inner city Boys and Girls Clubs of America. I am also a clinical supervisor as well as providing psychological evaluations and testing.

I have a deep interest in neuroscience, neurobiology, neural basis of emotion, and improvement in cognitive and physical functioning through mindfulness and meditation. I have published research on the topic of neuroplasticity, meditation, mitigation of mood, and satisfaction with life.

I also have a personal and professional desire to understand multiculturalism and the role it plays in our life and identity due to being a dual citizen of the European Union and the United States.

In addition, for over 15 years I have enjoyed working as an adjunct professor of psychology and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for state university psychology courses. I am currently a part time professor of social and psychological sciences at National University in San Diego, CA. My favorite courses to teach are health psychology, biopsychology, and introduction to counseling, because I get to teach a new generation of therapists.
